The Bachelor-Benedict Club featured in DC History Center’s “BIG PICTURE” Exhibit by the Historical Society of Washington DC
Please take the time to visit the new DC History Center’s “BIG PICTURE” exhibit. The Historical Society of Washington DC has honored our 109 year history by dedicating a place for the Bachelor-Benedict Club in their new museum exhibit space as part of the newly renovated Carnegie Library (the new “DC History Center”). They hosted an evening for us at the new facility last June. It was an evening to remember as a proud Member of our organization.
The BBC exhibit is anchored by a 40ft. wide x 10ft. tall panoramic photo of the 1948 Debutante Ball at Washington, DC’s then Uline Arena. It also features a period tuxedo with Club regalia (red ribbon sash and lapel pin) and a detailed reader panel that chronicles the clubs history with info obtained from our Archive and live interviews with older members (Former Presidents, Honorary and Emeritus status) and former Debutantes.
