Membership

The Bachelor-Benedict Club is a non-profit organization. Its membership is limited to 137 Members, which includes: 125 Active Members (including 4 elected officers), 6 Honorary Members and 6 Members Emeritus.

In the 1940s, a red ribbon was chosen by the Club as a sign of unity and to promote solidarity between its members. When dressed in proper attire at all formal events, each member is mandated to wear his red ribbon, slanting across his chest, from upper left to lower right. Club policy promotes that the ribbon is inseparable from a member’s attire at formal Club functions.

In 2016 the club adopted a Bachelor Benedict Medallion in addition to the Red Ribbon.  Members are now able to choose between the Red Ribbon or the Medallion.

Applicants for membership require the sponsorship of a member of the Club and must be approved by a majority vote of the Personnel Committee. New members are inducted into the Club at our Spring Initiation Ball which is a Members Only event.
